Emma Ball

Head of Learning Technologies, Open Access and Library Services - Solihull College & University Centre

Emma has worked in the education sector for 18 years working as a lecturer and manager. Her roles have included teaching and management of both curriculum delivery and cross-college departments. She has been a keen user of technology from the start of her teaching career, using a range of tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of activities inside and outside of the classroom.  She also led a team of teachers in setting up and delivering centralised remote A-Level provision for a national group of schools.  During her career, Emma has overseen the design, implementation and ongoing development of a range of systems designed to enhance teaching, learning and assessment and to improve organisational efficiency.  In her role as Head of Learning Technologies at Solihull College and University Centre, Emma and her team are committed to promoting effective use of technology and the development of digital skills for both staff and students.  During the Covid-19 pandemic Emma and her team have supported teachers across their organisation to adapt to remote and hybrid delivery.
